Jeep Safari.

This one day tour offers real value for money. It is not a constant drive for the whole day, but has breaks every 30 to 45 minutes to stop at a place of interest. This tour start at 9am with a visit to ‘’ Kachikally ‘’ crocodile pool. Learn the history of these creatures and also the story of the ‘fertility’ from the waters from the pond. Shake hands with friendly Charlie and other crocodiles. We then proceed to the Serekunda market, where we will see lots of different business activities by the local Gambians with their colourful dresses before boarding our jeep to the ‘Abuko’ cattle market. This is the time to learn about cattle farming in The Gambia. From the cattle market we drive through nearly 20 hamlets and villages in the west and south of The Gambia and we will stop by the school and you will hear about the types of education in The Gambia. The next stop is at the biggest wood carving factory at ‘Brikama’ where you can buy a range of souvenirs and presents Then to Paradise Beach for lunch. After lunch we will give you  up to 1½ hours for swimming and sun bathing. The last two destinations are a local village to see how local people live and to ‘Tanji’ fishing village where you will meet people in the fishing industry. Then drive back to your respective hotels.

 

Roots ‘Kunta Kinteh’.

This trip starts at 8am from your hotel to Banjul seaport where we will join other groups in the boat to Roots by river and you will be given  complementary coffee or tea and Sangria and also your lunch is served in the boat. During this trip you may have lots of opportunities to see dolphins jumping out of the water. Visit Albreda and Juffureh, which are the two most historical towns in the Gambia as far as the history of The Gambia with regards to the presence of Europeans in The Gambia and West Africa. This is a history that no one should be blamed for because we were all involved Europeans and Africans alike. We will visit the Slave Museum, Family of Kunta Kinteh, Craft Market and later after lunch you will join the boat to James Island now called ‘’ Kunta Kinteh Island ‘’ and then you will return to Banjul seaport where your transport will be waiting for your return to the hotel.

 

Makasutu.

This trip start at 8.30am from your hotel. We first drive through Brikama, the biggest town in the west coast region, and on our arrival at Makasutu complementary coffee or tea will be served with an introduction to the park from an indigenous guide and then there will be a boat trip or forest walk depending on the tidal system of the river. During the boat trip we will be able to spot colourful birds, oyster collectors, and the mangrove swamp. During the forest walk there is a chance of seeing groups of baboons, monkey, birds, beautiful nature vegetation and also the indigenous fortune teller who has lived in  the forest for decades and the palm wine tapper who will demonstrate how to climb and tap the palm wine. You will get the chance to taste the fresh juice of the palm tree. There will be a Gambian style buffet lunch and entertainment by the women from the village and also you can have an opportunity to dance with them. Finally a visit to a local handy craft shop where you can buy souvenirs, then our transport will be waiting for your return back to the hotel.

 

North Senegal Safari.

This is a day trip and it starts at 6.30am from your hotel. A drive to Banjul and across the ferry to Barra the first town in the North of The Gambia and then join our jeep to the Gambia border town of ‘Amdalai’. Your passports will be stamped and then on to the Senegal border town of  â€˜Karang’ where the same process will be repeated allowing you an entry visa into Senegal. A thirty minutes (30min) drive takes us to Fathala Game Reserve. In the park we will spend a maximum of two hours and we  expect to see Rhinos, Buffalos, Giraffes, Zebras and Giant Eland Antelopes. After the safari we will drive back to Barra for lunch and return to the ferry to Banjul where our transport will be waiting for your return back to the hotel.

 

Creek Fishing.

This trip starts at 8.30am from the hotel. We will join the boat in Denton Bridge at 9.15am, you will be given complementary coffee or tea. The boat will cruise in the creek through the mangroves and stop at a best point for fishing and there is an option where people who don’t want to do fishing can stay on top of the boat for sun bathing.  Lunch is served on the boat. There is also a possibility for swimming. Our return transport will be waiting for us at Denton Bridge.

 

Sunset Cruise.

This trip starts at 4pm from the hotel. We will drive to Denton Bridge where we will join our local tourist boat with an upper deck where you can lay down or sit and we will cruise from the Denton Bridge, watching the sun set. Loads of colourful birds can be spotted, mangrove swamps and oysters. Dinner and refreshments will be served on the boat. Our transport will be waiting for us at Denton Bridge for your return back to the hotel.

 

2 Day Georgetown.

This trip starts from the hotel at 6am with a drive through local villages to meet the real culture, tradition and the real life style of the Gambian people. We will have our lunch in Farafenni. We will drive to the stone circle from there we take a boat trip in Kuntaur to visit the Hippos, Chimpanzees, Crocodiles, Birds, Monkeys and the natural vegetation. We will drive to our hotel where we will sleep in an African style house with no electricity. We expect to see lots of monkeys and beautiful vegetation along the river bank. The second day we will visit Georgetown, the Freedom Tree, Methodist Church and drive back, with a stop on the way, to the hotel.

 

Birds and Breakfast.

This trip starts early in the morning at  6am as the pickup time from your hotel and we will drive to Lamin Lodge to join your boat for the early morning trip to watch birds in the mangroves, sand banks, by the river and also the nearby rice field which attracts lots of birds. Then you will return for a breakfast at the Lodge and after the breakfast we will go to Abuko Nature Reserve where you can also see different species of woodland and wetland birds and by mid day you will catch your transport back to the hotel.

 

Nature Exploring.

This trip starts at 9am with a visit to Bijilo Forest Park (Monkey Park). Here you can find the two types of monkey, the green velvet monkey and the red colobus monkey. It is great to interact with the green velvet monkeys who come very close and are not shy of people when they have a peanut (groundnut). Expect to see lots of birds and natural vegetation which makes this place unique with termite hills all around . The next stop will be at Abuko Nature Reserve, where you see birds, crocodile pool, information centre and the orphanage of some Monkeys, Baboons, and Hyenas. The last place is Lamin Lodge where we will visit the oyster factory with a boat trip in the river. We will have a drink at Lamin Lodge and head back to the hotel

 

City Tours.

 In this a half day trip we will be going to Banjul, the capital city of The Gambia, where we will visiting the Arch 22, the commemorative tower built at the entrance of Banjul, and Albert Market to buy souvenirs and a visit to the seaport before returning to the hotel. (No meal provided)

 

Lazy Day Cruise.

This trip starts at 8.30am from your hotel. We drive to Denton Bridge where you will join a local tourist boat with upper and lower decks where you can choose where to sit as the boat will be cruising the whole day. This trip is very relaxing and lots of drinks and water will be served and the cook in the boat will also serve an excellent buffet meal,  in both Gambian and European style. During this trip you can have the chance to swim, watch birds, women collecting oysters from the roots of the mangroves with their dugout canoes and the green vegetation surrounding the river.
